There's something about packaging edible Easters gifts that just makes us happy. Maybe it's because we know that so many little people are going to be really excited to receive these adorable gifts or maybe it's because we get to sample some of the sweet treats that are being packaged. Either way, here's some ideas for Easter gift packaging that we think every "bunny" will love.
Cone shaped bags and boxes are perfect for Easter packaging because they naturally look like "carrots". You can get creative and package cone shaped containers with orange and green sweets to look like carrots or just fill them with lots of spring like colours to give them an Easter theme.
Here's what you'll need: cone bags, treats and/or baked goods of your choice, twist ties, scissors and materials like ribbon, twine, wraphia and tissue paper to create the "carrot top".
If the bag is too long it is very easy to cut it down using scissors as shown above.
In this sample, we added a tissue paper fringe detail to the top of the bag and added another twist tie to keep the tissue paper fringe in place.
Now lets display those adorable carrots so they can be used as a centre piece for holiday entertaining. We added chocolate brown sizzle to clear glassware and placed the "carrot" favours into the vase to look like they were growing out of the ground. The chalkboard sign was hand lettered for us by Autumn Grey Designs.
Here's a little tip for filling the cone bags: Place the cone bags in a tall glass and use a candy scoop to add candies to the bags. If you'd like to add something like these cute cookies from Mad Batter Bakers you may want/need to add something smaller like candies to the bottom of the bag so that the bottom of the bag fills out.
You can do the same thing using cone shaped boxes. Here we filled the boxes with layers of orange and green candies to look like carrots. Make sure that you fill the boxes right to the top so that the candies do not move around.
We used cone favor boxes, candies, scissors and assorted colours of green wraphia.
Once you have filled the cone boxes with sweets, add wraphia to the top of the box ...
and finish with a bow.
These look sweet displayed in the glassware with sizzle as well and would make a sweet Easter display idea for home entertaining or as a retail display idea.
If you are a retailer, add a chalkboard sign to these display ideas so customers can easily shop your Easter themed treats.
Holiday Tip for Retailers: Add white pompoms to inexpensive kraft shoppers and style tissue paper in the bags to look like bunny ears for the weeks leading up to Easter. Your customers will love that you've done the holiday gift packaging for them.
