Easter gift bag inspiration | Creative Bag

It's so easy to turn our everyday fabric and paper bags into Easter gift bags and here's a few ideas to inspire your holiday gift packaging.

Here we glued pom poms to paper bags to look like bunny tails and added tissue paper to look like bunny ears.

The tissue paper "ears" were simply two pieces of tissue paper tied with baker's twine to hold their shape. A white tissue paper pom pom was added to the bag first and the tissue paper ears were placed on each side to finish.
Note: you can find a tutorial for making tissue paper pom poms in this post.

Hand made pom poms were added to these muslin drawstring fabric bags. The bunny and chick themed pom poms make these plain bags party ready for an Easter celebration. If you are going to add candies or edible products to the bags you will want to package the food products in clear candy bags first.

We added more pom poms and tissue paper bunny ears to wine bags to use as packaging for Easter hostess gifts.

Planning an Easter egg hunt? Send the kids (and adults) off on the hunt using these burlap tote bags that have been embellished with pom poms and a little embroidery floss. The pom poms were sewn onto the burlap tote bags so they would stay in place.

Easter is just a couple of weeks away .... we hope that some of these ideas will inspire you to take your holiday gift wrapping to the next level.

sweet countdown to the holiday idea using mini advent cookies and muslin bags | creativebag.com

Here's a sweet idea for an interactive countdown display. If you read our last blog post you may recognize that we've reused our wood display board in this set up. We replaced the linen draw string bags with 3"x4" natural muslin pouches so that you can see the adorable mini advent cookies from The Teeny Tiny Bakery inside.

The Teeny Tiny Bakery will be selling their mini cookies at the One of a Kind Show later this month. You can also contact them here for more information about their 2017 advent cookies.

Instead of numbering the bags, Learzi from Autumn Grey Designs added gold hand lettering directly to the display board. The bags were left blank so that the cookies could be seen through the fabric. The gold numbers are revealed as each bag is removed from the board.

Green striped ribbon and small natural greenery were added to make the muslin bags a little more decorative and interesting. Our greenery elements and wreaths were created for us by Christine from Flower Treasures.

Stay tuned for more ways to countdown the holidays.

countdown to the holidays with hand lettered pin-back buttons on linen drawstring bags | creativebag.com

Make every day a treat this holiday season with interactive countdown displays.

This do-it-yourself countdown calendar was created using 4"x5" linen drawstring bags, chalkboard pin-backed buttons, clothespins and a wood canvas display board.

You can find the instructions for turning a large 24" x 36" wood canvas into a countdown display board here.

Pin-back buttons were spray painted with chalkboard paint and attached to each of our linen drawstring bags. You can use chalk markers or paint pens to number each button.

Doris Wai hand lettered each pin-back button for this project. She approached each number a little differently for a whimsical twist. If you are interested in learning more about hand lettering - what tools to use, how to get started and project ideas - Doris shares all of her hand lettering secrets in her recently published book "Extraordinary Hand Lettering".

DIY favour inspiration using linen drawstring bags

Friday, 7 April 2017

diy favours using fabric bags | Creative Bag

Drawstring bags are a great option for favour packaging and they are available in many different sizes and fabrications.

These linen bags are like blank canvases just waiting for you to make them your own.

Here's nine DIY ideas to get you started:

One. Silk Flowers and Decorative Brads. This silk flower was pulled apart and put back together again using a decorative rhinestone brad. The brad was also used to attach the silk flower to the bag.

Two. Stamp and Paint. Stamp a design using permanent ink. I added a colour detail to this stamped image using a little paint and a puffy gloss sealer.

Three. Buttons. Use purchased buttons or pins. Make your own chalkboard button by spraying old buttons with chalkboard paint. Add hand lettered details using chalkboard markers.

Four. Glitter Paint. Add a heart using gold glitter paint. Use a stencil if you are making a lot of these.

Five. Rhinestone Buckles and Ribbon. Sew on the buckle and add a colour of pop with ribbon.

Six. Fabric Petals and Buttons. Layer different colours and textures of fabric for a bit of whimsy.

Seven. Hand Lettering and a Resin Pin. Use a fine tip permanent marker to hand letter words or a name. The resin flower pin and felt leaf were added for a pop of colour.

Eight. Iron On Transfer. Create your own or search Pinterest for designs to download and use as art for iron on transfers.

Nine. Dye and Buttons. Use food colouring and water to create your own fabric dye. Create an ombre look on the bags by adding more dye to achieve the look. Sew on a button to hold a gift tag.

custom boxes | Creative Bag

Beautiful packaging always gets our office staff a little excited. And that is exactly happened when we started passing around these custom boxes for ICLS

Of course, I had to add satin ribbon and a little holiday pick to dress up one of the boxes for holiday gift giving!

The box is from our exclusive Urban Market collection and the logo was hot stamped in silver foil. If you were thinking about having custom boxes made for your business or special event contact our Custom Services to find out more.

free download and your last chance to enter the holiday gift away

Sunday, 22 November 2015

In our last post about our third holiday giveaway I featured a picture of a tote bag filled with holiday goodies. The bag was embellished with an iron on transfer that I designed to go along with our 1961 collection. Today I'm going to share the graphics for the iron on transfer with you as a free download.

You can use the large iron on transfer on our large cotton tote bags

There are also two smaller designs in the printable that can be used on our small drawstring cotton and linen bags. If you like free downloads and printables you may want to follow our printables Pinterest board.

If you have not yet entered to win the 1961 holiday giveaway, this is your last chance ... time is running out. You can find the contest post to enter here.
